7 days PEARLS OF NORDERN POLAND

1st day Warsaw
Meeting the guide at the airport. Welcome dinner at the hotel.

2nd day Warsaw - Torun
Breakfast. City tour of Warsaw. Visit to Old Town, Ghetto, Palace of Culture and Science, Lazienki Park, Royal Castle. Dinner. Departure for Torun, overnight.

Warszawa Warsaw Old Town was established in the XIII th. century. It impresses tourists with its quaint, cobbled streets and unique old architecture. The heart of the area is the Old Town Market Square with its unique traditional Polish restaurants, cafes and shops. When the weather is warm the square becomes filled with cafe tables, various traders and street artists.

The Royal Castle is a maginificent example of baroque style - it was built in the XIVth century. In 1569 King Zygmunt III Waza moved his residence to the Royal Castle as Warsaw became the capital of Poland. Between 1598 and 1619 the king had the Royal Castle restyled into a polygon by Italian architects. In XVIIIth. century King Augustus III turned the East Wing into Baroque style while King Stanislaw Poniatowski added the Royal Library. The Royal castle served as both a residence for the kings as well as hosted Sejm session.

Palace of Culture and Science (competing with Warsaw Mermaid, it is 'the tallest' symbol of the capital - 234,5 metres high, also the biggest building of Poland. Both loved and hated)

The Warsaw Ghetto originally contained almost 450,000 people. By January of 1943,it was down to roughly 37,000 people. The rest had already been taken away to slave labor or death camps. Word got out that the Germans were going to finish off the ghetto, clean it out. Those half-starved, disease-weakened ghetto inhabitants decided to fight).

Lazienki Park is one of the most beautiful part of Warsaw - one of the most favorite places for walks for Varsovians and tourists. This romantic, landscaped park includes the Palace on the Water, together with various other palaces, pavillons, an amphitheater and two orangeries.

3rd day Torun - Gdynia
Breakfast.City tour of Torun, dinner, overnight in Gdynia.

Torun is the medieval town, birthplace of the famous Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Depending on the calculation method, the Geographic Center of Europe may be located here.

4th day Gdynia - Gda±sk - Sopot
Breakfast. City tour of Gdynia, Gdansk, Sopot. Organ concert in Oliwa Cathedral. Dinner, overnight.

Gdynia Gdynia - a city born under a lucky star Once there was a transatlantic liner by the name Batory. It was nicknamed 'Lucky Ship' as indeed a lucky ship it was. It was spared both the high winds of the seas and the storms of World War II in which it served in convoys. Its home port was Gdynia - a city born out of dreams and very wisely invented less than 80 years ago; a city born under a lucky star - where luck never fails you and unlike elsewhere the impossible becomes possible.

Gda±sk Gda±sk - always hospitable, invites visitors to its charming lanes and historic interiors, bathing grounds on the sea and sailing courses, comfortable hotels, elegant restaurants, and cosy cafes. Its numerous museums, concerts, fairs, exhibitions, and street theatrical events complete the broad spectrum of the city's cultural offer.

Molo in Sopot All along the 4.5 km Sopot coastline there are clean and sandy beaches along which are scattered water slides, water and beach equipment rental shops, changing booths and showers. They are the venue of numerous sports and recreation events such as volleyball and beach football tournaments, happenings, shows and cross-country races. Beside the beach eateries have been built. Europełs longest wooden pier (511.5 m) juts out from Sopot beach. It is a place for strolls and festivities, but also the harbour of tourist passenger ships and water taxis and the site of numerous competitions such as the Sailing World Championship, Windsurfing Baltic Cup, Polish Cup and Sopot Triathlon.

5th day Gdynia - Malbork - Olsztyn
Breakfast. Departure for Olsztyn via Malbork - visit to the Teutonic Knight's Castle. Dinner, overnight in Olsztyn.

Malbork Castle Malbork Castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress; it is the worldłs largest brick castle and one of the most impressive of its kind in Europe. The castle and its museum are listed as UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. It is sometimes referred to as 'the largest heap of bricks north of the Alps'. Under continuous construction for nearly 230 years, Malbork is actually three castles nested in one another. The High, Middle and Low Castles are separated by additional dry moats and towers.

Olsztyn is beautifully situated in a lake region of forests and plains, barely touched by man. There are 13 lakes inside the administrative bounds of the town and many more surrounding it
